Please read Chapter 4. This is another key chapter to understand the actions of many drugs on the human body. Terminology can be difficult, but it will be necessary for you to understand the key components of the autonomic nervous system, including the sympathetic and parasympathetic divisions.

Neurotransmitters, the different types and how they function will be another important area for you to grasp.

Your textbook does not provide a lot of depth for this chapter, but we will expand that quite a bit in lecture. There are several resources and links in the Background Material module that may be helpful for you to get a handle on this material.
