Instructions

This is just so that I know what your wishes are and for me to let you know what your options are.  We are faced with a unique grading opportunity for the semester.  Just this once you will be able to petition for:

  1. Last minute withdrawal with full refund and no transcript penalty https://admissions.santarosa.edu/petition-dropwithdraw-class-after-deadline
  2. Ability to change your grade from a letter grade to pass/no pass
  3. Ability to change from pass/no pass to a letter grade.
  4. Ability for the instructor and student to agree upon an "Incomplete" grade with a back up of a letter grade of "A".  This particular option had admissions and records scratching their heads but they agreed to do it just this one semester.  This option allows a student with a letter grade of an "A" to take an incomplete and return the next spring to HORT144 an join in to do the labs as agreed upon between myself and the student.  If the student decides to not return, then their grade will default to the "A" earned this semester.  The only way I am willing to do this is if the student has done all of the following:
    1. All QWEL sections 1-10
    2. The QWEL audit
    3. The practice QWEL exam (4 points)
    4. Register for the QWEL exam https://www.qwel.net/pub/class/158
    5. Take the final QWEL exam on Friday May 22
    6. Finishes the class with an earned "A" letter grade.

An alternative option which will allow a smaller amount of participation is to become a volunteer for the Living Learning Landscapes Project so that you can come and participate with the class in the spring without having to do the incomplete.  They would love to have you help in any capacity that you are able.

Please fill in the quiz with what your current desire is for the final grade option so I have it in writing and can better keep track.

You should consider going over these options with a counselor to make sure that the choice you make will not have a negative impact on your educational plans or financial aid.
