ANOVA and Data Analysis
- Due Apr 15 by 1pm
- Points 5
- Submitting a text entry box or a file upload
- Available after Apr 9 at 12am
You need to analyze our data to see if there is a significant difference due to our hydration or watering time treatments. We will do this with
- rosette diameter data
- fruit number data
This handout has the instructions for how to do a two-way ANOVA . You will need the Google Sheets that are labled
- Fruit Data Analysis
- Rosette Diameter Analysis
Submit to Canvas and bring to class your
- ANOVA
- Bar graph for both rosette diameter and one for fruit number
- answers to the following questions:
- For % hydration: was there a significant difference in rosette diamter and/or fruit number? What was the p value (chance of being wrong)?
- Which hydrations do you think was the best for plant growth?
- Which hydration do you think would be the best for our purposes: to drought stress the plants without killing them.
- For time of watering:was there a significant difference in rosette diamter and/or fruit number? What was the p value (chance of being wrong)?
- Does it seem like there was a watering time that was much better or worse for the rosette diameter and/or fruit number? Which one(s)?
- Notice the interaction between % hydration and timing. What do you think could account for an interaction effect? (ie: which combination of %hydration and timing made the most difference and why do you think that was the case?)
