    ANOVA and Data Analysis

    • Due Apr 15 by 1pm
    • Points 5
    • Submitting a text entry box or a file upload
    • Available after Apr 9 at 12am

You need to analyze our data to see if there is a significant difference due to our hydration or watering time treatments.   We will do this with

    • rosette diameter data
    • fruit number data

This handout has the instructions for how to do a two-way ANOVA .  You will need the Google Sheets that are labled

    • Fruit Data Analysis
    • Rosette Diameter Analysis

Submit to Canvas and bring to class your

    1. ANOVA
    2. Bar graph for both rosette diameter and one for fruit number
    3. answers to the following questions:
    4. For % hydration: was there a significant difference in rosette diamter and/or fruit number? What was the p value (chance of being wrong)?
    5. Which hydrations do you think was the best for plant growth?
    6. Which hydration do you think would be the best for our purposes: to drought stress the plants without killing them.
    7. For time of watering:was there a significant difference in rosette diamter and/or fruit number? What was the p value (chance of being wrong)?
    8. Does it seem like there was a watering time that was much better or worse for the rosette diameter and/or fruit number? Which one(s)?
    9. Notice the interaction between % hydration and timing. What do you think could account for an interaction effect? (ie: which combination of %hydration and timing made the most difference and why do you think that was the case?)
