DIRECTIONS:
Carefully read and follow the "Blue Book" guidelines from the assignment page. Again, remember there are length (1500 to 3000 words) and quality requirements. It is recommended that you thoughtfully compose your responses off line. Then, carefully "copy and paste" your responses for all Module #6 assignment tasks in the response box at the end of these directions and guidelines. Once working within the "Blue Book" response section, be sure to boldly label each Task # prior to discussing your learning. This way I will know which task you are writing about. This all sounds pretty simple and pretty obvious, but many students forget this, thus confusing the professor and/or his Teaching Assistant (TA) greatly!
Before beginning this online homework assignment be sure you understand the word count and quality requirements (1500 to 3000 words depending on grade desired). Also weekly assignments may not be submitted back to back. There must be at least a one assignment space between submissions. See "Grading Policy." To get there, click on the Course Basics link and then click on Grading Policy for particulars.
The required tasks for this module assignment include:
Task #6.2 - In this exercise demonstrate a clear and concise understand of sex and gender by reviewing a 26 minute video. This Sex and Gender video program explores the ways in which males and females are similar and different, and how gender roles reflect social values and psychological knowledge. With Dr. Michael Meaney of McGill University and Dr. Eleanor Maccoby of Stanford University.
In a tightly worded response, share what you have observed, learned, and appreciated in a lively and thoughtful response. Education is not meant to be boring, so have some fun.
Task #6.3 - For the human sexuality oriented Website, report back what you learned from exploring any one of the many categories listed. Explain in tightly worded writing, what you learned and what your reactions were. Comment on a different sexuality site for each homework assignment.
Task #6.5 - Here we go again! This time we turn our attention to our own Sexually Speaking workbook. Complete the exercise: Butch, Fem, or Both: Your Androgyny Inventory in Chapter 5. Provide a written reaction paper regarding what you learned from this exercise. Your submission should include a discussion of gender and androgyny and its role in gender development. Be sure to consider how valid and reliable you believe the inventory to be from a scientific point of view.
Task #6.7 - Since there is only one "thought-provoking question" (TPQ) a week due during the regular semester, a minimum response of 200 to 225 words is required for each message board TPQ posting. Also, students need to post a TPQ for EACH of the 15 online assignments.
Task #6.8 - After reviewing this film module, report back what you have learned. Explain in a clear, concise, and tightly worded reaction report.
