Over the duration of this course, there are four tasks that must be completed in a timely manner. Grades are determined by successful completion of these tasks. These tasks include:

1. Two (2) major online homework assignments must be completed out of 15 to choose from (1500 to 3000 or more words). Total points possible - 200 each. Exceptional submissions may receive more points.

2. Four (4) exams (100 points each) must be completed out of five provided. Lowest grade will be dropped for students who take all five. Total points possible - 400. The 5th exam is provided as there are NO make-up exams other than the 5th exam. Students who miss two exams fail the course.

3. Sixteen (16) assignments from the assigned workbook Grieving Days, Healing Days (GDHD) must be completed out of hundreds to choose from. Total points possible - 150. A 250 word (double spaced typed page) reaction paper is needed for each. A reaction paper, much like an essay, is comprised of your reactions, thoughts, and learning received from having completed a particular assigned reading, exercise, or activity. Many of the activities you will perform in this class require a "reaction paper" type response. So be sure you understand how to write one and complete them correctly.

4. Fifteen (15) “Thought-Provoking Questions” (TPQ) and/or Articles must be read and a thorough reaction response posted on the message board to promote lively discussion. Each TPQ is worth 10 points. Total points possible - 150.

5. Extra credit assignments offer opportunity to receive additional course points.

6. Attendance. Attendance is based on promptness of submission of homework assignments and message board submissions online, cooperative nature of student, and evidence of polite and civil tone in any and all email traffic between student and professor. Plus or minus points are given students in the grade adjustment category when needed to achieve a higher grade or simply pass the course.

7. Please be sure to review the important Santa Rosa Junior College Student Rules and Regulations link provided below.

8. Total minimal course points needed for an A=995, B=885, C=775, D=665. Less than 665 is an F.

9. All of the above are discussed in more detail at Course Basics. The "Course Basics" link is part of the overall course Syllabus located in the left navigational sidebar at the course homepage.

10. The following Rights and Responsibilities link contains various important topics --- such as student conduct and discipline --- that all students must know and understand fully.
