Week 10 Overview and Goals

 This week is all about introductions.  You'll go through a long series of resources meant to help you begin thinking about introduction strategies that you can use for the Community Problem Project.

In addition, I assume that you are using this time to continue your research for the Community Problem Project (you need to incorporate 10 different sources, after all) and beginning to brainstorm, plan and draft that assignment.  You still have 3 weeks before the 4-page rough draft is due.

Goals

If we're successful in this module, you will:

• Understand the most common introductory strategies used in academic writing.
• Understand some common problems with introductions, and how to make an introduction stronger.
• Be able to identify which types of introduction an author is using.
• Generate ideas about introduction strategies for your Community Problem Project.
