Week 2 Overview and Goals
Goals
If we're successful in this module, you will:
- Understand what is expected of you for the first major essay of the course: The Rhetorical Analysis Essay
- Join a group and work with your group members to write one body paragraph (the Practice Paragraph Assignment) of the Rhetorical Analysis Essay (you may use this paragraph in that essay).
- Generate ideas for writing a rhetorical analysis of either MacMillan or Part 2 of In Defense of Food.
- Understand and generate ideas for the second major essay of the course: The Community Problem Project
- Understand how to work with sources for the Rhetorical Analysis Essay and all of the other essays in the course.
Schedule
To reach the goals for this module, you'll need to complete the following activities:

6/30 | 3. Join a group for the Practice Paragraph and participate in a discussion to generate ideas for your group's paragraph. |

7/5 | 4. Read about the Community Problem Project and share ideas in the "Community Problem Brainstorming" discussion. |
7/5 | 5. Begin drafting your Rhetorical Analysis Essay (it's due next week), and share ideas in the "MacMillan and Pollan Part 2 Analysis" Discussion. |
7/5 | Learn about how I expect you to work with sources in the Rhetorical Analysis Essay, and in the the rest of the essays in the course. |
