Week 1 Overview and Goals
There is a LOT going on this week, so I suggest you get through it by doing one section per day. You also have a healthy chunk of reading from In Defense of Food (81 pages), so be sure to pace yourself on that one too (I recommend 20 pages a day).
Goals
If we're successful in this module, you'll be able to:
- Reflect on your reading history
- Learn about and apply active reading strategies
- Learn the basic concepts of rhetorical analysis (the rhetorical appeals and argumentative modes)
- Use those modes and appeals to describe how an author's rhetorical strategy works (rhetorical analysis)
