Navigating Your CANVAS Course & Mobile App Tips-2

If this is the first time you have used the Canvas course management system, you may have some questions about how things work. You can also click the Help button (?) in the lower-left corner of this page to find other resources, including a toll-free number you can call 24 hours a day to reach a Canvas expert.

Mobile Access Tips

Using a CANVAS app on your mobile device? Here are a few tips...

The CANVAS app has very limited functions. There are times when you will find that accessing CANVAS from the web works much better for completing your academic course work. There are some things you won’t be able to do in the app.

Keep in mind that even though navigation in the app is slightly different from the web version, you’ll still need to make certain to access everything through the modules!

If your course has a page where you need to write your ideas on the ‘wiki’ page, you will not be able to do this in the CANVAS app. You can view the page but not edit it… You’ll need to access CANVAS directly through a web browser.

iOS

Using the iPad/iPhone CANVAS mobile app? 

When submitting assignments, click on the SUBMISSION tab in the assignment. You’ll see a red TURN IN link in the lower right hand corner. Click that and then slide right to the directions for file upload.

Android

Using the Android CANVAS mobile app? 

When submitting assignments, click on the SUBMISSIONS tab in the assignment. You’ll see a TURN IN ASSIGNMENT. Click that and then choose your file to upload from the CHOOSE FILE FROM… menu.
