Meet Your Instructor

paris

Hello!

I'm Laurie Taylor, and I will be your instructor/guide/helper for the next 17 or so weeks.

A little bit about me....

I was born in southern California, but lived in Colorado and Texas (where I graduated from high school- barely). At 19 I moved to Manhattan to attend a private acting conservatory. I quickly realized that I did not want to be an actor, but stayed in New York until I got tired of starving to death ;) I then spent a few years working, traveling and volunteering until I decided to go back to school. I was a community college student for two years and then transferred as an anthropology major to Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, TX. I focused on archaeology and biological anthropology, and became a working, private sector archaeologist after graduating. I have done academic and private sector archaeology in Texas, New Mexico, California and Central America. I attended graduate school at UC Riverside and have been teaching at SRJC since 2008. Mostly what you need to know about me is that I love anthropology and teaching, and I am here to support and encourage you. I have taught Anthro 2 online many times, and you are in good hands. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have questions or concerns.
